I just arrived home from a funeral. While I was there I saw many cousins I haven't seen in over 20 years. One night we spoke of strange happenings, hauntings and visits from passed family members. It was said that my aunt was a sensitive and although I hadn't really paid much attention to the buzz about it growing up, I had an experience of my own that I got to share with my cousins.
    Here's my story...
My mother's husband passed away unexpectedly, 3 years ago while he slept. On the third night, after his passing, I went to sleep and woke within the dream. I knew I was sleeping but awake. I have to tell you something about him before I continue. my step-father had a severe limp from hip surgery and the shakes from medications he had been on for 7 years. Now, I see him in my "non-dream" and I couldn't understand how he was standing there if he was dead. No words were exchanged but after the initial confusion, I understood what he wanted me to know. He was standing behind a cafeteria buffet, holding a ladle and making serving motions with his right hand but there was no food in the bins or on the spoon. And I see... His hand is not shaking. It's solid and steady. Then he nods to me with a smile and turns and walks away. I notice that he is not limping and he has a smooth gait. That's when I opened my eyes and knew he had come to me in a dream to show me he was ok. See, he passed and my mother had so many questions. Two years later she called me because she was missing him. We again spoke about the "non-dream" and she said out loud, "Chris, if that was truly you trying to tell me something, then I'm going to think of something and not tell Deemara but if it's really you, then you'll tell her what I'm thinking and she'll tell me." Right after she said it I had a picture flash in my head and it was of him laying in bed with the covers down to his waist. No shirt on and pointing to his chest. I started to tell her and stopped because I was thinking "there is NO WAY this could be it." Well, she heard the beginning and started crying and yelled for me to "Finish it! Finish it!" I told her of the image and she sobbed. That was what she was thinking of. That was called "her spot" He would spray cologne on that area and she would lay her head on his chest because she liked his scent. Nothing like that has happened before that time or since. Phew...that is a lot shorter when I'm telling the story and not typing it. haha

Great story Deemara!!! This won't compare with the chills that you gave. But it's a funny story.

Four years ago, my sister, our two cousins and myself met in Buffalo NY for one night during Christmas vacation. Instead of staying with family we decided that my sister, our female cousin and myself would get a hotel room for the night. Our male cousin hung out with us until about 2:00 AM and then went to stay with his wife and kids. Instead of drinking and driving, we decided it would be best to party at the hotel. We went to a little corner store to pick up some alcoholic beverages and pizza. Our male cousin was first in line at the store. When he was finished my sister, female cousin and I were up next in line. Our male cousin makes it to the door and right before he walks out he yells to us "You stupid bitches, get your asses out in the car right now!! And don't forget my smokes!!!". Well the guy at the register looked at him like he couldn't believe what he just heard. The 3 of us girls were trying not to fall on the floor from laughing hysterically. I forgot to mention that he is very goofy and outgoing and oh yeah, he doesn't smoke either. What a hoot. Don't worry, I'm getting to the ghost part. LOL.

We make it to the hotel. The guy that gave us the room decided it would be best if he give us our own floor. I guess he could see we were in party mode. Anyway, I took off to the 6th floor where we were staying, so I can hide and scare the crap out of the other 3. The hallway couldn't have been any wider than 3 feet wide. I'm serious. They were really long and narrow. I walked down the hall and came to the end where I can go either right or left. I turned right and again walked all the way down until I came to the same. I turned left and again all the way down to then make right hand turn. After that I lost track of what direction I went because I realized I was in a maze. I was lost for about 5 minutes and then came to a dead end where the lights went out on me. I started running and screaming while holding onto the walls because I couldn't see where I was going. Nobody heard my screams and let me tell you they were loud. Finally I find light and then continue running until I find our room. I find a door open and hear the other 3 chatting. I assured them that they had to come with me and told them what had happened. The 3 of them are laughing at me as we are all walking the halls. After a while, we decided that nothing was going to happen so we started to head back to the room. Remember, this is a maze we were in. Somehow we ended up at the same spot where the lights went out on me the first time. Our male cousin pushes my sister and I out of the way, runs down the hall screaming, "Save yourselves!!". All of us are running and our female cousin is pulling my sister back yelling, "It's always the last one who gets it!!". Finally we make it back to the room. No, we had not even begun drinking until this point. LMAO..
OK it's about 3 hours later. We are all snuggled in and 3 sheets to the wind after drinking and talking about old times. Our male cousin heads back to his wife and kids.
It's bedtime for us. I am just dozing off and hear this banging sound near the window. I asked the girls if they heard that sound too. There was no response. The banging continues. I asked louder, waking them up. As soon as they responded with "no", the banging stopped. At this point, as far as I'm concerned, there is no way I'm falling asleep, but then I passed out. I woke up about 5:00 AM, feeling like someone is touching me. I am sleeping only in a t-shirt and my underwear. I leaped from my bed to the girls. My butt lands right in our cousins face and I am twisted looking down at her while she's looking at me like I am nuts. LOL. I told them that something was touching me, but when I opened my eyes I didn't see anyone. Later when everyone was awake, my sister and cousin both said they heard the banging the night before, but they were both too darn tired that they couldn't even respond about it.
