The average person just can't get ahead today. I have found that no matter how much I save or try to get ahead that it doesn't work. It's not that I am being sloppy by way of handling money. I'm actually very responsible. My problem stems from the increases in the price for all necessities. I'm sure i'm not the only one who is going through this, but I sure feel alone in finding a solution. I just don't get it. What would happen if I weren't trying to get ahead? Would I be forced to go on welfare? I feel like I am being shoved in that direction. Why bother being a hard working person who brings home a paycheck every week? I get none of it to myself anyway.

HHMMMMM!!! There are always ways to save money Napagirl. The problem is people were never taught how to be thrifty. I currently make decent money, however this has not always been the case. I lived off minimum wage for years when my son was young. So I understand your situation completely. Here are some everyday tips that I use, even now.
I never impulse shop.. I think about any purchase over $20

I clip coupons every Sunday and out of magazines. Then I use those coupons when a store has the buy1 get1 free deals, which are every week.

The buy1 get 1 deals i usually stock up on items I use on a regular basis. So at any given moment I could have 30 cans of Ravioli. They last a long time.

I take advantage of the everthings a $1 store for soap, shampoo, bodywash--that saves about 2$ per item. (Namebrand items too)

I also budget my spending money per week. If I want to eat out all week, then I can't buy a new movie or outfit etc.

Hope this helps, but budgeting is the key to a saving account. Good Luck!!
