I have been faced with my Father's health taking a plunge for the worst last year. He was rushed to the hospital because he couldn't breathe. He was revived and when the tests came back it turned out he has congestive heart failure. Even though the strength of his heart has increased from 15% to 35%, I worry about him Immensely. I'm sure I am not the only one who takes things for granted and I'm lucky to have a second chance to make it right. The problem is, I'm not sure I know how to. I feel lost in how to go about being the daughter he is proud of to give him the sense of a job well done. If it weren't for my Father, I wouldn't be who I am today and I love him so much.

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear that Lava! It is incredibly rough when a loved one gets sick. Are you a parent?? Well as parent myself, I don't think it will ever matter to me what my child does or doesn't do. My love is unconditional, as I am sure your Father's is. I say plan a weekly meal with him, regardless of how tired you are or any other excuse that comes up, make the meal. And call him at least 3 times per week. It doesn't matter if you are only on the phone a few minutes. As times goes on the estrangement will become better and communication easier. You seem like a good person from your posts, so i think it will come easy. I will be praying for your Father. Good luck with your mission.
